Disappointed with this steamer. The post does not stay on which makes it useless in hanging your clothes to steam. I dont understand why this feature was not tested properly. The device itself works ok when steaming ligthly wrinkled clothing, but on heavier clothing such as cotton or linen shirts it takes a long time for it to take out the wrinkles.

Pur Steam's customer service called me today and apologized for the problems encountered on the steamer's defective post. They are shipping a new one out to me today and it will be here this coming Monday. Mr. Ash, service customer rep/owner, also indicated that he will personally walked me through the installation of the replacement steamer to ensure that the post is working properly. The fact that the company cared enough about ensuring that their customers are satisfied with the product will make me change my review from one star to three stars. I will update this review once I get the replacement up and running and testing it on a whole basket of clothes waiting to be steamed.

Pur Steam's customer service came thru as promised. Mr. Ash walked me thru and sent a visual addendum on how to install the steamer's pole. He promised that the addendum to the installation manual will be included in all of the product. It made a world of difference. I now am able to steam all of the clothes with ease and I am revising my previous statement on its perfomance with heavily wrinkled cotton and linen clothes. Having the ability to hang the clothes made it easier to direct the steam where it was needed. With the pole installed properly, I was able to work thru a basket of wrinkled clothes in less than 30 minutes. Much faster than ironing. I've changed my review from one star to five stars

This garment steamer is great! I am a flight attendant and like my uniform to look sharp. But I do not have the money to dry clean it, so I wash it my self and hang dry it. It was never crisp looking. But now with this steamer it looks so sharp! Like it came right from the dry cleaners! It's quick and easy to use!
Why I never thought about this before, I don't know, but I will be recommending this steamer to all of my fellow Flight Attendants and Pilots!

Steamer itself is made out of durable plastic that makes it easy to move around the house for storage,unlike other products that need lots of tugging power.

Reading some of my fellow shopper's reviews before unpacking, got me a bit nervous about the time consuming task of putting it together!! Between taking it out of the Box and being ready to use,It took me about 10 Min in total,I noticed that if you follow instruction word by word it will take time,just use your ingenuity and refer to instruction booklet if you ever hit a snag.

Pretty much Plug & Play type of operation. I agree with the manufacturer's advise to use distilled or filtered water to prolong the life of the Steamer,and that works for Irons as well,I use filtered water from my refrigerator,has less deposits that can clog the pores of the Steamer.
We own an older Steamer from a Big Name Company(which we paid more than double the price compared to this one) and other than the extra fancy attached gadgets I honestly didn't see much difference in outcome(see shirt pictures bellow) In a cute attempt to justify the extra cost wife thinks this Machine is Okay :)
The only negative thing that I found with the Steamer (although I received it as a sample test free or at a discounted price) is the position of the drains on both,the tank and the the machine itself,as some water remains in both after emptying them out,and that wouldn't be a deal breaker anyway,just get some paper towel or a rag to wipe out what remains.
Conclusion:

Best purchase I've made in a while. If you dislike ironing but have lots of dress clothes (rayon, polyester, linen) that have a tendency to get wrinkled easily even when hung up this item is perfect. It's fast, easy, and my clothes look like they just came from the dry cleaners! The shirt I posted only took about 30 seconds to steam. Excellent product for the price!!!

Who knew I could love an appliance so much? It's so much quicker and easier than an iron, and it works SO MUCH BETTER! I can steam satin and cotton, and freshen my sweaters that have been packed away all winter. I'm steaming all my clothes before I wear them. Even if there are no wrinkles, it always looks better after a steam. I'm so freaking thrilled. :)

If I knew a garment steamer could revolutionize the way I rid my clothes of wrinkles I would have purchased one a long time ago. I might say ironing has always been one of my least favorite chores. This steamer has more than exceeded my expectations. It is no less than amazing in its easy effective way of ridding the wrinkles in my life.
I first tried it on my new drapes. I have included a picture of one side steamed and one side not. It worked like a charm even on the thicker material. I also tried it on a disheveled sweater I had in my closet. It was just as effective in bringing my old sweater back to wearing status.
The steamer was a bit intimidating to piece together and learn how to properly use it but well worth the challenge. I think the most difficult part of putting it together is getting the pole in place. The instructions were a bit ambiguous in this step. The plastic is split where goes in on the tank. The plastic needs to be separated just slightly to fit the pole in and align it with the grooves as the instructions say. After your pole is inside of the tank and aligned with the ridges you just screw back on the gray piece. Once you have got that in right the rest is brainless.
The tank is surprisingly easy to fill and even has a handle for easy lifting. It is clear so you can see just how much water you have. The hose is very heavy duty and quite long. The box includes quite a few accessories to help you get the most out of your steamer. It has a pants press which hooks onto the nozzle and allows you to clamp your pants in it and slide it along the crease. It is a really great idea and worked perfect on the jeans I tried. There is also a fabric brush that snaps on easily to help with tough wrinkles or rid unwanted things from your clothes like hair. The heavy duty hanger included is really one of my favorite features of this product. It makes it ready to go when I need it.
The tank or steam did not leak at all. The water in bottom of the tank left over can be easily drained with the included plug. The tank has wheels which really add to its ability to steam more things with this mobility feature. Included also are two clamps to hold whatever you are steaming if needed. Lastly they include a piece to put under the material while it is steamed.
This is a product that really has the Wow factor for me and one that it is evident that the manufacture put a lot of thought into the innovative design features.

My stepfather is now in love wtih this and won't let anybody else use it. Ugh
The steamer arrived and my sample for review was well packed so it arrived undamaged and ready to go. The directions were not too complicated and it was easy to get started. We probably could have figured it out without reading but stepfather is big on that one, me not so much.
The first item we steamed was a t-shirt that looked like it had been in a ball and was heavily creased and the section we steamed looked pretty good, almost pressed but not quite. It was a pretty good result for the first time using it and we (he) has gotten better at it. It's been around the house steaming various items, like curtains, chairs and the bed in addition to clothing. It seems to work well for most duties of a steamer. It definitely beats out the hand held little one I had previously and don't miss at all because it didn't do much.

My son actually put it together following the directions.

I'm very pleased with this purchase. I don't use this commercially...just have a lot of delicate pieces I'd rather not take an iron to. The steamer heats up super fast which is great for the work-ready rush.
Some consumers here complained about the lack of sturdiness in the rod. You have to unscrew the gray attachment from the base; then insert the rod into the base; screw the gray attachment around the base/water tank and you should be in business.
