This thing.....it's my best friend. Hands down, no joke, I'm in love. I don't use it everyday, and sometimes not for a week or so, but when I need it, it's there. And it never fails, as soon as I use it for something I'm looking around the kitchen to see what else I can slice/chop/shred, because it's fun to use and mind-glowingly simple. I'm upset with myself for waiting so long to buy this. It is the most expensive thing I've ever bought for my kitchen (appliances not included), and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. The only thing is it's too tall to fit on my counter, beneath the upper cabinets. If you're a tad OCD about your countertops being clutter-free like I am, this will only bother you for all of 5 minutes until you use it. It now has a place of honor on my peninsula because 1) it's too heavy to move around all the time, and 2) it deserves it.
I came up with a list of reasons that justify the expense, because I'm cheap and had to convince myself to buy this, and since having it I have added to the list exponentially. If you're a penny-pincher like I am and are fighting with yourself, please use the following reasons to make your culinary life easier.
You can use it to "grind" meat, thus saving grocery money. You'll no longer fight with uneven tomato/onion/potato slices. Kids (and kitchen-disaster spouses) can operate it without issue- as long as they're competent enough to not cut themselves. Safety features- there's no way you're getting a body part anywhere near those blades while they're running, just use common sense when handling them. It's dishwasher safe, but also insanely easy to hand-wash (no crevices for food to hide in). Homemade salsa, spaghetti sauce, salsa verde, and 100 other things are stupid easy to whip up with this doing all the work. The shredder attachment will save your knuckles from the box shredder of doom. It'll last you practically forever, and will make you want to try foods you've never made before, just because you can.
Buy it, love it, chop everything in sight.

I had the older version of this classic food processor when it was made of white plastic. When it yellowed I made the mistake of giving it to a friend and replacing with a newer machine. I tried a cheaper brand which was not great. Then I went up-market with the very expensive 14-cup Kitchenaid. It was worse than the cheaper one before; what a piece of crap. I put it in the garbage. I finally received my new Cuisinart from Amazon which had the best price and am happy to be reunited with my old, favourite food processor but now in stainless steel. It's every bit as amazing as I remembered. It's simple. It's cleans easily in the dishwasher without discolouring or getting cloudy. It's quiet and smooth and powerful. I couldn't be happier!

When my old processor conked out I took the opportunity to buy the one I've been wanting for a while. I'm glad I read the reviews...putting all the parts on this machine was opposite on my old Hamilton Beach machine and the food pusher must be in for the machine to work, which is understandable due to the large opening. I'm sure it's a safety measure. It's efficient, effective and sooooo quiet. I make bread and pizza dough, pie dough, cream cheese filling, bread crumbs and so much more. I finely mince the vegetable aromatics for my marinara sauce in it and while they soften in the Dutch oven on the stove I process the tomatoes for a super smooth sauce. What a time saver! I use it so much it proudly sits on my counter all the time.

I just upgraded to this from a cheap (if you call $80 cheap) B&D model. I watched a lot of video reviews on this and they were right on the mark. This unit is top notch. It does everything it's designed to do beautifully. It's so quiet, you can use it while the whole house is asleep without waking a soul. You can whip up dough for two pizzas or a double crust pie without even the tiniest whiff of flour escaping.

My first food processor and I did a lot of research to get this one. The food residue thing in the review concerns me. But I can assure you that this new model will not have that problem because this an opening that will wash any residues out. The look is very elegant. The blade is super fast. The noise level is low. The feed tube is big enough for whole foods. Saved substantial time for food preparation in cooking.

I love this food processor. The blades and plastics are all great quality. It's very easy to assemble and I rally like the safety features. Unlike my last food processor I can easily click this one in the first time instead of kind of guessing where my last one locked in properly. The wide mouth is great for larger vegetables so you don't have to cut them down to tiny thin bits before pushing them through. Processes very fast..sharp blade doesn't mush anything up. Easy and simple to clean - I've seen other reviews saying there are areas that get clogged. Honestly I'm not sure how they are using the product except that they must work in a sloppy way. Over all I'm very pleased and it's a great upgrade from my first food processor.

This processor is amazing I'm totally in love. Trying to eat more organic and whole foods after having cancer and being in remission to help body heal and do what it's meant to. What we put in is what we get out.
It chops, slices, dices, and makes all this so simple for lack of muscles of being bed rest for so long. Clean up is a breeze and assembly is so simple my hubby got it off the bat.

I replaced my 35 year old Cuisinart which was the same capacity. The motor still worked but the bowl had small cracks. All the attachments from my old unit fit my new Cuisinart, which as an added bonus.
Every thing I have made in my new unit turned out well. I love the larger feed tube and consider it a big improvement, especially for slicing potatoes etc. I find the unit very easy to use and have zero complaints. I love the large size because when I use it I don't have to worry about making 2 batches of everything.
I haven't had it very long and only hope it will continue to hold up as well as my older unit.

The product is five stars, but as with most on Amazon, don't fool yourself that you're getting a great deal price-wise. No one is selling this model for $365 or even $265. The standard price is $199 and I've seen it as low as $189.

Hands down, the Cusinart Custom 14 is the best food processor we've ever owned. Overall it's very powerful and yet relatively quiet. We were drawn to it by the thorough review on thesweethome-dot-com. After getting short-changed with cheap or smaller units that didn't deliver, this one is a dream.
