I had the Presto 07039 22-Inch Electric Griddle for 5 years, but the nonstick surface was starting to wear off from frequent use, so I was in the market for a replacement. Having had a Presto already, I knew it did a decent job of cooking evenly, had a good nonstick surface, and was affordably priced. I was hoping to find one that would be a little easier to clean, and debated between a couple of dishwasher-safe options, but settled on the Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle with Removable Handles for its removable handles. The problem with all the dishwasher-safe options is that they were big and bulky - by design since the heating element had to be separate from the cooking surface.
I am please to report that I am happy with my choice. The large 22" cooking surface has excellent nonstick properties; I prefer it over my previous Presto griddle which didn't have the same texture. I made an egg (with no oil) and the non-stick was so good that the edges of the egg actually curled up and away from the surface on their own. No sticking whatsoever.
I was a bit worried that the handles might be loose, making the griddle wiggly, but I'm happy to report that is not the case. In fact, I can't tell that they are removable handles at all when moving the griddle around. It's very solid, with nice little rubber grippies on the bottom of the legs - something my previous Presto did not have. And the handles are very simple to remove. Each of the four legs has a tight spring latch that secures the handles in place. You can easily remove the handles in seconds and store the cooking surface in the same cupboard as your pizza pans!
The shape of the cooking surface is also more convenient to clean than my last Presto. This one is flat, with an opening in the rim where the grease tray resides. You can wipe the surface straight off the edge of the griddle into the grease tray or a sink/garbage. My previous Presto just had a small hole that grease was supposed to drain through, and you had to wipe any larger pieces up and over the rim. Also, the grease tray on this model has two small catches that prevent it from sliding open too easily. My last Presto had no such mechanism, and the tray actually slid out while I was in the process of moving it and broke when it hit the floor.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I'm sure there are other great griddle options out there with more bells and whistles, but this one does the job and is both affordable and convenient.

Over-all, I love this griddle for the price.
As with most listings, dimension info is weak and vague. Just in case this helps, the overall width with the legs is 24 inches but here are the actual griddle cooking area: 21.5 inches wide and 11.25 inches deep. Still, a very nice size that I can easily fit eight 4" pancakes on.
I was hesitant about the textured non-stick surface but found that it performed EXCELLENT > I even tried eggs with no oil or butter and it actually worked, although I still prefer a small amount just for a better texture and flavor. For most applications (eggs/pancakes) I use a light coating of "Spam."
The cooking surface does have some "hot" spots that I think is typical of nearly any unit in this class and price range, but my pancakes still cooked nicely.
The removable legs are designed beautifully and perform well (mount easily and snug). The surface is nearly perfectly flat but with thin batter, I can see a slight sage inward and toward the drip pan, by-design?? The unit has a very solid feel on the countertop, very flat and with rubber pads on the feet.
The design of the drip area and cup is another great feature, the cup removes easily yet won't slide out on it's own without a slight lift before pulling out.

No negatives thus far, at 2months of use. I've used it dozens of times for eggs, pancakes, and burgers. Innovative surface is very non-stick and easy to clean. The detachable handles are fantastic and make cleaning in the dishwasher a breeze. Great value for the money.

This griddle is more than I imagined. I used it for a weekend trip to the country with some friends; I needed to make a lot of pancakes all at once. This griddle reminds me of the times when my mother used to make pancakes but now I'm a step above. This thing has a very low profile yet a large surface area. I was able to grill five (5) large pancakes all at once with the bottom two slightly offset from the top three. I didn't use any butter or oil at all, the non-stick surface looks a bit strange but it worked amazingly well and helped add a slight health factor to something so unhealthy.
We also cooked scrambled eggs and bacon on this thing and it was great too. The scrambled eggs were slightly challenging on the non-stick surface and I would suggest letting them sit on the griddle surface slightly longer than a pan; this will help lifting them off when mixing the scrambled eggs.
Just a suggestion, there are some nay say'ers who complain about uneven heating on the griddle surface. I found that there are one or two slightly cooler spots but nothing to cause much of a problem; the temperature difference didn't mess up my pancakes!
I would highly suggest this to anyone looking for a griddle. Assembly and cleaning was easy too.
P.S.
I live overseas in a 220V country and I had to use a power converter to step down the voltage. The device is rated at 12.5 amps at 120V or 1500 Watts.

I rely on these reviews a lot, and was swayed to buy this product based on the reviews I read. I was ready for this to be better than the last miserable failure griddle I tried, but not ready to fall in love with a cooking implement. I'm still getting the hang of all the homemaker things so anything that makes my life a little better is disproportionately appreciated. This griddle is really cool - it cooks fantastically and cleans up easier than I could have imagined.
I've had it less than a week (arrived on time - a day early even!), but have cooked:
fried eggs (over easy - perfection, I mean perfection)
scrambled eggs (with cheese even, and sooo easy and nothing stuck!)
quesadilla (nice lightly browned tortillas, cheese melted perfectly - totally blows the old microwave versions away)
and finally - the reason I HAVE to have a griddle - pancakes. My kids love pancakes, and I have destroyed them every time I tried. They've been edible, the kids were as tolerant as teenagers can be, but they were bad. And they like chocolate chip pancakes, which have been real sticking problems. Well, Dad can finally do pancakes - perfect ones! - golden brown, cooked through, and the chocolate chips didn't even come close to sticking. So easy, so predictable, and SOOO easy to clean that I can even make pancakes for the kids before school now. Happy kids = happy Dad.
I read about some unevenness - I can tell you the tip to let it heat up for 5-10 minutes seems to make a big difference; I had no unevenness. And clean up was surprising. The cooking surface outperformed the Calphalon and Cuisinart pans I've had, noticeably (Cuisinart smoked the Calphalon, by the way, in terms of clean up and resistance to scratching). I was laughing to myself, thinking "I could clean this up with a leaf blower" - nothing stuck to this surface.
So anyway, I'm having a ball with this and had to post.

An absolutely fantastic electric griddle. I had to replace an older one (that one must have been at least 20 years old). This one...as goofy as it sounds...is a joy to cook with.
First off, the dimensions as that's important for storage purposes. It is 22 inches wide by 11 1/2 inches tall, and about an inch thick. I have fairly odd cabinets and these fit just right. With the handles, add about 4 inches to the grand width though I wouldn't store them with the handles in place.
When it's shipped to you you'll get five pieces: the griddle, the power supply, 2 handles, and a grease pan. All connect very easily and stay on quite sturdy. The handles have spring-like clips that keep them in place. The power supply slides in and has a soft 'pop' feel that lets you know it's in. The grease pans rest on two little hinges but is quite sturdy in place. You MUST use this griddle with the handles in place. You theoretically could without them but the grease pan won't fit and you're risking an electric shock.
Cooking is fast, clean, and efficient. It heats very evenly and warms up to the set temperature very quickly. I've yet to burn an egg or pancake on this! It has a slight texture on it as well. At first I thought it would make cleaning difficult but it did the complete opposite! Food and debris wipe right off. The griddle has a very slight slant towards the grease pan.
Overall it feels like a good quality product, one that my wife teased me about initially but now says "that was a good idea!"

I like this griddle: It is big and nicely designed for cleanup and storage. I like the fact that the handles easily come off for storage and cleaning. It takes up minimal storage in my bottom cabinet-probably no more than a full-size cookie sheet. It is no-stick so when it was cool I easily washed it at the kitchen sink with just a paper towel and warm soapy water. As far as cooking, it seems to do a good job. There are some hot spots over the heating elements but I think that is to be expected with such a large cooking area. Just keep a close eye on the food and if something is cooking too quickly or too slowly move it to another area of the grill as needed. I've had it about a month and so far I've only cooked bacon, grilled cheese and Reuben sandwiches on it. Personally, I think the bacon tastes better than if it were baked and was much easier and faster to cook than using a skillet. I also like that the cooking area is big enough that I can cook all the sandwiches for a family of 4 at the same time so everybody get served a hot sandwich all together. In fact, it is large enough that I could cook 12 sandwiches at once!

The best part of a nice appliance is that you don't have to think about it. It just does what you want it to do, doesn't give you extra hassle while you're using it or cleaning it or storing it. That's what this presto has been like for the two months I've had it ... I mostly make pancakes, bacon and eggs on it and they all come out great. Pancakes are fast and nice and even, bacon comes out way better than in a pan and the grease goes right into the drip cup to be washed off. Eggs work out best with a bit of oil spray, but I've made them dry a few times and that's fine too (non-stick works). Cleaning is ridiculously easy - and I can't believe all those pans I was scrubbing all those years when making the same breakfast foods that I make on this. This thing cleans right up with no fuss. Mostly, I like that it doesn't have any shady nooks and crannies that could fill up with gunk over time - when I clean it, it's actually clean. So ... two months of positive experience, hoping it lasts me years, since that's the final test for any appliance.

The quality of this product is exemplary considering its low cost. All the "pros" listed by the reviews I read before purchasing my unit a few days ago were spot on. As for the two frequently mentioned "cons"... I first plugged in my unit on the rear porch, set it on 350 watts and let the break in smell waft into the night sky for 30 mins. What odor problem?
The second so called "con" listed is non existent for people with a minimal amount of patience. I plug my griddle in and walk away for 10 mins or so. When I return I start my food prep, put my serving plates in a warm oven (nothing worse than serving hot food on a cold plate), then start cooking my food on the griddle. Perfectly even surface temperatures, no uneven browning. Perfect hash browns, perfect evenly cooked pancakes every time.
Having never owned a griddle before my big learning curve was this cooking device does a few food items very well, and most other food items not well at all. Large amounts of bacon should still be cooked in the oven, scrambled eggs easier in a large nonstick skillet, panini's faster in a panini grill. But for grilled cheese sandwiches, pancakes, shredded hash browns, fried eggs, this unit is fantastic. Clean up is a breeze. Love this griddle.

OMG! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! I didn't expect much and boy have I been well pleased! The side handles release quickly and easily. The heat is distributed evenly from edge to edge. Cleans and stores, PRESTO! Can't say enough about it. Nothing but awesomeness! LOVE!!!! I have just recently began reviewing products that I've bought because I am always and forever reading reviews to make decisions on things I want to buy. I think people mostly post the bad and not enough good. :(
