This is my 3rd Lasko Heater I've owned in 14 years and I absolutely love them!
I use them under my office desk to keep warm in the late fall, winter, and early spring. I bought this one to replace an identical model that was over 10 years old. The old one still heats, but the oscillating option didn't work anymore and I've run it for so long that the bearings in the fan were starting to get loud. Not terrible, but loud enough that I wanted to replace it.

So, how does the new one compare?
Looks:
Almost identical - the top switches aren't chromed anymore, the oscillating switch is now square, and the red light is round instead of square, and the LASKO logo is now printed on the base instead of on a little grill emblem. The new one is also about a 1/2" shorter. That's about it.

Performance:
Way better!!!
Within 2 minutes I could tell this one was putting out more heat than the old one. They both are rated at the same output, but the 10 year old one definitely wasn't putting this much heat out. On medium, the new one puts out as much heat as the old one did on high. Yeah, it puts out that much more heat (and I LOVE IT!!!)

Smell:
The first day I used it, it had that "new heater smell" that a few people have complained about, but it's now gone. Wasn't really all that strong either--at least to my sniffer. If it bugs ya, run the heater in your garage or a day or something until it goes away. Didn't bother me a bit.

Heat Output:
Oh baby! This thing rocks! It can easily get hot enough on high blowing on my legs that I have to turn it out (that's a GOOD thing!) Also, it'll keep my 20x20 foot room nice & toasty. It keeps the area under my desk EXCEPTIONALLY warm, which is the whole reason I bought it.

Why Buy a Lasko:
Short version. Because they work and they're tough as nails!

Longer Version:
About 10 years ago I bought an identical model. I've beat the crap out of that thing. Thrown it around, kicked it around, shoved it in closets upside down, on its side, with the cord mashed up, etc all summer long and every winter when I bring it out, it works! It's like an old friend that comes to visit every winter. It's just flat out reliable! Yeah, the oscillating switch finally quit working about 2 years ago, but I just aimed it at my legs & let it rip. It still did what I bought it to do--HEAT, and heat well!

Why Buy A Replacement:
The newer one puts out more heat. It's quieter (MUCH quieter) than my trusty 10 year old one, and it just works!

Would I Buy It Again?
Oh heck ya! In a heartbeat! It's a great value too!
Five well earned, well deserved stars. My warm legs love this thing!

This little heater is a great room heater
Very very quiet and efficient and cool to the touch all around except where the heat is omitted from the center shielded area does get quite warm .. The fan is so quiet with several settings and temp is simple to adjust and the oscillating feature is a great bonus
Great buy very satisfied and will order a couple more

I have owned other Lasko heaters in the past and I always find them to be better than other brands out there such as Honeywell, Delongi etc. This little heater warms my 400 sq ft living room to a very comfortable temperature. I only normally keep it set to low and never need high except on the coldest of days in which I will turn it to high for about an hour and then down to low the rest of the day. I highly recommend this heater, it get's the job done!

Quiet, heats up fast and works well. re Oscillating, doesn't rotate much, a few degrees each direction but not a concern. Use for an unheated cellar area about 9x12 where we keep a spare shower stall and heats this area very nicely. a little "heat" smell when you turn it on but does not permeate the room or anything, not a concern here either. shuts off after room reaches setting. settings are not temperatures but a rotating dial where you pick a spot.. so after a few uses I figured out where I should put the setting at about half way up and just use this all the time. for the price can't beat this. Attractive item. two intensity settings along with a Fan mode and off on the other dial..I usually use "1" of the 1,2 mode and again this with the middle dot on the 2nd dial gets the job done. there is an "oscillating" button but I don't use that, just have it set in the middle of the cellar room. Buying another for a colder bedroom. Some of these small heaters are really noisy, this one is not.

I have the "designer" version from this maker and wanted another for the bath downstairs so took a chance on this one. It is a different style but basically the same quality. Was not disapointed, it is just as well made and trouble free as the designer one and heats up my bath very nicely. Also it has a nice long electrical cord which makes it easy to place where you need it. I expect to use them both for years to come.

This little heater is perfect in my craft room. I was afraid I would smell the heater, but do not. It heats up my room (12X12) in a snap.
I set the dial to where I want the heater to turn on, and presto, it keeps me toasty. There are no temperature numbers., but it is easy to gauge. I do not leave it on or plugged in when I am out of the room. The exterior does not get hot, but the slim design may be tipped over if knocked by a child. I would not use this in a large room due to its capacity. It is light weight, simple to operate, has a great fan, and suits my needs.

I've never been a heater under the desk kind of guy...but my desk is up against floor to ceiling windows (work from home) and it gets cold already in November. This is a lot smaller than I had expected and it puts out some serious heat. Exceptional buy for the price if you ask me. The oscillation is nice as well. I have not had any noticeable odor/smells from it as others have reported. I call it a good buy.

I bought this heater because my bedroom has really bad insulation, but this heater will have you warm and toasty in no time! And do not let the small size fool you, if you put this thing on its highest setting it will have your sweating bullets in the middle of a blizzard!

It also has a built in climate control setting, so once you reach your desired temperature you can then set it to a lower heat setting to maintain just the right amount of warmth which comes in handy for when you leave it on over night. It will turn itself off once the temperature is met so you can remain warm all night even on the coldest winter nights!

This is definitely a must buy!

We use it in our motorhome. Quiet enough, small so I can set it on the countertop or floor without intruding into the limited living space of the motorhome. The blower moves adequate amount of air. As to the amount of heating or efficiency - that is a mute point because 1500 watts is what it is, no matter the manufacturer.

ive had this heater for two months now and its great. first off it looks like a speaker which I love. its light and works almost too good. if I put it on the high setting the room is too hot within the hour. I keep it on the lower setting and its perfect. also its very safe and works as a fan too which in sure most do but it oscillates which is grand. highly recommended for big or small rooms and attics alike.
