I rarely write reviews. I have four kids, a full-time job, and no free time to dedicate. I had to write one for this vacuum.
I've read all the reviews and was a bit skeptical to purchase. I really wanted a Dyson, but for the price this was seemingly the best option for us. It was definitely the way to go. I bought the vacuum a month ago and so far, the suction is amazing (especially compared to my old piece o' crap vacuum that I purchased at that chain store with all the people shopping in their PJs)!
It has lots of features (hardwood cleaning and included attachments too), it is lightweight, and it is very versatile! It was very easy to assemble and easily to use. I don't find it easy to tip over as others have mentioned. Most importantly, I could see a huge difference in our floors after the first use!!
Very Happy with this purchase.

I am not one to leave reviews, i normally just read what others say. But right now my friends and neighbors look at me funny when I start talking about my new vacuum because I can't stop with the accolades. I did read reviews on this vacuum, but they do not do it justice, this is a bada$$ piece of machinery. I have medium pyle carpet, and I can turn the brush off and it still pulls at the carpet! When you turn the brush on, it almost feels self propelled as the brush pulls it forward. I caught the end of a scarf(by mistake) and it sucked the entire thing into the hose before the brush shut off- looked like a cartoon it was so fast! with the canister 3/4 full, it still picked up loose cat litter and pet food. My carpet did not look dirty, but the first 5 feet I went back & forth I went over twice filled the canister a quarter of the way. My carpet runners have never been so clean, they look refreshed, newer even. My 20 yr old son commented on how much better our carpet looked and also said that it felt better, softer, "fluffier". My daughter made the smart-a;ec comment that I sound like an infomercial! My last vacuum sucked because it didn't suck, this vacuum doesn't suck because it sucks better than any other I've tried. This vacuum is absolutely awesome, print yourself out a 20% Bed, Bath & Beyond coupon and go get yourself one!!!(Sorry Amazon, but $160 for this vacuum is a steal!)
Their slogan should be "Your vacuum sucks, but ours suck better!"

I purchased this Shark vacuum after having owned two Dysons over the past eight years. I swore by Dyson for years an even poo-pooed my own mother when she told me how much better Shark vacuums were. I continued this vacuum snobbery until she purchased one for my grandmother. I have been helping my grandmother by cleaning her house every week and I finally had a chance to use a Shark. My mother and grandmother both have the Rotator professional and I have to say I was very impressed by how well it cleaned my grandmother's berber carpets. I still wasn't convinced Sharks were better. It wasn't until I was vacuuming a living room rug with my Dyson DC 34 Animal that I decided to give the Shark a try. You see I ran the Dyson over that rug again and again and I could still see hair on the black parts of the rug. So I though I would bring my grandmother's Shark over to my home (she lives across the street) and see if Sharks were indeed all I had heard about. I plugged her Shark in and ran it over the same rug. I was amazed and disappointed that it picked up every single piece of kitty hair on that rug. That rug actually looked clean. I say disappointed because now I had to admit to my mother that she was right, lol. Now in case you think I wasn't cleaning the filters and doing the required maintenance on my Dyson you are wrong. A vacuum that costs that much you make sure you take care of. Anyway I was so impressed that I purchased a Shark for myself. I purchased the Navigator Professional and I absolutely love it. It pulls up cat hair like a dream. The only complaint I could ever have about this vacuum is that the vacuum head is not as wide as on my Dyson but the good news is that I love to vacuum so this is not a huge problem. Also for some reason I did not get a dusting brush in the box with my new vacuum. Long story, short I am a believer and I did admit to my mother that she was right as much as it pained me to do so. Mother always knows best I guess.

I love this. I am expecting my first baby and have become insane about cleaning. I wanted a new vacuum because the pet hair mine seamed to be leaving on the carpet. I looked at reviews all over. I debated between this and dyson. This was way more affordable so I decided to give it a shot.
I put this together in a flash(pregnant)It seamed a little "cheep" So I was kinda worried about the parts being flimsy. So far they are not, its just very light weight.
I wanted to do a test and see how good it was.(crazy prego mind I vacuumed part of my carpet with my old vacuum. I emptied the content of the old on a paper. Then I vacuumed the same swatch of Capet with my new shark. First thing I noticed was how easy it was for me to maneuver at 38weeks pregnant. Then I dumped the content of this vacuum on the paper to compare what had been lifted. I was amazed.
First the pile of dirt was about 4-5times larger than the pile from my old vacuum.
Second the dirt was different. My old vac pulled up pet hair and dust bunnies. The new vac had pulled up more pet hair, dust bunnies and also dirt! A lot of DIRT. I was amazed! Still am a few weeks later.
Third My house gets very dusty. I dust weekly and at each dusting the new dust is thick enough I can write in it. I always thought it was from living in the country. Well now I don't need to dust! I guess the vacuum pulled so much dust out of my carpet that I actually have less in my house! Each time I dust I find less and less...its vanishing from my life!
I have so much more wonderful things to say ...I spilled wet plaster on my carpet and this vacuum got it out! it dose wonders on hard floor too. My mini blinds are clean from the attachments. The cord is so long that I hardly have to move it.
I LOVE THIS!

Although the differences are subtle, they could be very important to the customer. Nobody has really mentioned the differences, so here we go!
From Vacuum Cleaner Advisor Site:
"The Shark Navigator Lift Away NV350 and the Shark Navigator Lift Away Pro NV356E are similar machines but the two can quickly and easily be differentiated by their color. The NV350 is lavender in color while the NV356E is white and silver. The "Pro" is also a little heavier at about 14 lbs compared to 12.8 lbs for the NV350, and the "Pro" dirt canister is larger with a capacity (to the fill line) of 0.55 gallons while the NV350 dirt canister capacity (to the fill line) is 0.3 gallons. It should be noted that the canisters on both units can actually hold more but the recommended capacity before emptying is as stated above. There are a few other differences as well, such as vacuum dimensions."
Had I known this before, I would have probably gotten this model for the extra capacity. Don't get me wrong, the NV350 is a great vacuum. If you don't have a thick carpet then the 0.3 gallon capacity is probably fine. You can't go wrong with either.

I review products at most 2 times a year. 99% of the time when I am provoked to review a product is comes from some negative aspect I feel passionate enough to let others know about. Well take this as my 3rd review for 2014. That's right 3 reviews this year because I feel so passionate to share with all prospective buyers that this vacuum is great, not kick ass, not good, not perfect, but great in every aspect. For the money, it's a bargain w/o compromise. Wife and I love the detachable canister for cleaning our carpeted stairs. The hard wood and tile floor attachment works great. The cleaning performance is 10 of 10. I snagged this on amazon's lighting deal and I am glad I did! Comes with a 5 year warranty which does't tell me that if anything goes wrong w/in that time it will be a breeze to rectify; rather, it tells me that the manufacture has the industry's highest consumer goods confidence that their customers will be satisfied.

I have the NV356Q model, which means i bought mine from QVC instead of amazon. I did this because only the QVC version comes with the "backsaver handle" and it also comes with Both the short and long crevice tools, and 4 dust pads instead of 2. See 2nd picture i just added showing accessories.
I just received it yesterday, and i CANNOT believe what it picked up immediately after i used my Hoover WindTunnel Rewind T series vacuum. I put up a picture. I have an 8 month old boy and an almost 3 year old boy and 3 cats... and i cant believe how dirty the floor i thought was "clean enough" really was!
Putting it together was a breeze!! snap, snap, snap click. DONE. It is very user friendly, and using it is fun!!!! (it may just be fun to me because i am weird, and i actually enjoy vacuuming!)
This morning i decided to put the little circle brush on the hose and clean the sectional, and it actually takes the cat hair off without any of those sticky tape things!! I have never had a vacuum that did that!!
It is very light weight, quieter than my hoover, and actually the noise it makes is quite pleasant compared to normal vacuum roars. The path is not as wide as my hoover was, but honestly it is so much easier to push and navigate it does not make a difference.
The first thing i noticed was no dust smell while using. My hoover pushed out all types of crap into the air while using it. This one is airtight... and you can tell it is by feeling it when clicking the parts in and out.
The suction on this thing is amazing... and if it is really a "never lose suction" than i cant even see myself ever buying another vacuum.
My 1 wish was that the tube from the lift away to the end was longer! It is so short, i have to have the tank like right next to me or on the couch when cleaning the tops and stuff. I wonder if there is something you can buy from shark to extend that?? Regardless its worth it even if you cant. I love this thing!!
I have not done the floors in the kitchen yet... i don't have hard wood or anything in my apartment, i have linoleum in my kitchen and ceramic tiles in both bathrooms. I will update later today or tomorrow when i do those!!

I got this vacuum today. It was very easy to put together and the result was incredible. I always wanted a Dyson, but did not want to pay $500 for a vacuum. After reading all the positive reviews on this bad boy, I decided to give it a try. For starter my carpet looks new, right after the first use and I couldn't believe all the nasty stuff it got out of my carpet. This was a great purchase!

I love my vacuum for all the reasons posted by everyone else. Wanted to post to inform people how to prevent the vacuum from tipping over when using the extension hose.
There are two places to attach the suction hose, the second place is lower on the vacuum at the base. If you attach the suction hose to the lower area the vacuum no longer tips over.
When I was researching vacuums I saw that complaint posted about this vacuum and I wanted to clear things up.
I would not think twice about buying this vacuum again, It is AWESOME!

I just got this vacuum and I have a small 1 bedroom 700 Sq ft apartment. After my first use I had to empty it! I could not believe the amount of dirt, dust and hair it picked up! I had vacuumed with my old dirt devil only a week before I vacuumed with my new Shark! It works so good it made my carpet look brand new! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new vacuum!
