Cost is far more reasonable than the big name brands. I cannot taste any difference between these and the other items.
Only comment is to make sure you rinse enough. It does spit out some charcoal unlike the OEM models. You can see from my first rinse bucket pic.

After finding out they discontinued the Pur water filler for my refrigerator. I searched all the replacement options on amazon and found this one to have the best reviews. After having one installed for a few weeks the water taste great and was clear after filtering 3 gallons through the filter. I will buy them again after these 3 run out. The prices was better then the original filters.

It is a good replacement for my side by side KitchenAid refrigerator. I found that this filter does spew off more dust in the first couple of gallons than the matching OEM Whirlpool filter, so make sure you flush it well every time you change it. Otherwise it does fit in fine, the water tastes as good as the OEM filer and measured with my TDS meter the filtered water is the same as the Whirlpool filters I used before.

Everyone else wanted a high price for these water filters! They fit just like the seller said. Very pleased. My son had said our ice cubes tasted funny but we hadn't noticed. Been years since we paid $45 for a filter.

We inherited a whirlpool fridge when we bought our current house. The water feature had never been used. We installed the factory filter and the water tasted gross. We ordered another filter (not OEM) and the water from that had a super strong plastic flavor. As a last ditch effort we decided to give these a try and so far so good. The water tastes clean, which is such a treat after buying so much water in the interim. The tap we have comes from a lake - there is a distinctive lake smell as well as chlorine smell/flavor that intermittently occur. This filter has removed that variability and the water tastes like... just plain water!

I will most definitely purchase these next time! The OEMs are so expensive that I can't afford to always get them when needed. I have a Kenmore fridge and use part number 4396710. The filter fit perfectly. These filters have to be flushed before using. I had quite a bit of sputtering when I flushed the line and a lot of the carbon or charcoal was released. I ran mine until the water was clear. I didn't time it, but the directions mention three minutes. The water and ice taste fine.

These look and filter identical to the name brand OEM filters we have been buying for our Kitchenaid refrigerator, but at a fraction of the cost.
