The light indicator to replace the filter came on my fridge, and my wife got concerned with the thought of using/drinking unfiltered water. In our small town, the tap water has unpleasant taste. When I got an opportunity to try out this item, I jumped on it. Upon receiving it quickly thru Amazon Prime, I installed it in under a minute, ran a few gallons thru it to get rid of any loose particles, reset the filter light, and we were ready to enjoy purified water for many weeks to come. It's amazing that we take things including clean water for granted.

This water filter has been such a blessing!! I installed this water filter as soon as I received it. Our other filter was old and we have been buying bottled water all of the time. We were excited to see the difference in the old filter how the water tasted, compared to the bottled water we buy, & the new filter water taste. It was like night, day! The old filter I would never drink the water, I always felt like it tasted like chlorine, or something. I drink mostly water all of the time, not to many other beverages, so normally I stick to the same water brand from the bottle.
So when I tested the three options, side by side, HUGE Difference! The old water as I said, tasted like chlorine, bottle water seemed to be fine tasting, until I tasted the new water from the new filter, It was way better tasting than the bottled water. After drinking the water from the filter, the new filter, then when I tasted the bottled water, it seemed to taste like it has a wax taste to it, maybe from being in the plastic bottle? I am not sure.
But now I will be drinking right from the new filtered cold water from my refrigerator, & will save a lot of money on water, not wasting plastic bags to recycle plastic bottles, less trips to the trash daily, less bags. AWESOME! it is worth changing the filter every 6 months, even early every three months! I am sold... The EBL7771 EcoBlueLife Water Filter is an excellent choice for a replacement filter for several different refrigerator water filters. It looks, feels, and fits just like the original name brand. I specifically purchased this filter as a replacement for the GE MWF filter. The EcoBlueLife filter arrives in a well labeled box with a comprehensive list of GE and Kenmore filter models that can be substituted with this filer. The GE filters include the: MWF, MWFA, MWFAP, MWFDS, MWFINT; and the Kenmore filters include the: 46-9991 9991 and the 46-9996 9996. Installation instructions are also included on the box. It has a flow rate of 0.5 gpm with a 300 gallon life expectancy. Included in the box is, of course the filter, an information sheet, and sticker labels to remind you to change the filter in 6 months. The stickers are very convenient and easy to read. The filter feels sturdy and comes with a safety seal as well as plastic wrap to indicate it is new and unused. In my opinion there is not any difference in water quality in comparison to the GE water filter I was using. This is my honest opinion on a product that I am personally using. I have received this product at a discount price in return for an honest, unbiased review and I only review products that I have inspected, tested, and used.

Good alternative to the name brand filter which also means it is not name brand price which is nice. It came as described and pictured. It was easy to put in just as the name brand filter. It's been in for a couple of weeks so far and no problems. If something changes I will update.

I have not replaced my GE refrigerator water since 2011 because we have a separate water filter (Kangen Machine) we used in the house, but I decided to replace it now for visitors convenience.The EcoBlueLife filter has an exact fit and the same size with my GE original filter. Water flow is good after installing the EcoBlueLife and the taste is clean and crisp.No water smell. It was quick and easy to install.I have my installation video here you might want to watch for GE refrigerators.
How to Install guide:
- Remove the old filter by cartridge by grasping and turning to the left.
- Remove the protective sticker from the end of the new filter and filter it with a little water for better flow after installation.
- Check the rubber rings of the Adapter / Cartridge holder (If there's any) and attach it to your new filter.
- Position your new filter where you removed the old filter and slowly turn it to the right.Do not overtighten.
- Turn on your Refrigerator water faucet and check the new filter for leaks.

I received this filter and was very excited because honestly It has been a minute since we changed our filter and just resorted to buying my favorite brand of bottled water. Yes lazy to the convenience. I feel awful because all I had to do was simply take out the old filter, insert the new one, run a few gallons of water thru it to filter out any loose particles and voila...fresh filtered water. The filter arrived vacuumed sealed so no particles could enter and made me feel reassured. I feel great about not destroying our earth anymore with all the water bottles and I don't have to worry about the chlorine content in faucet water so much since our water supply is being filtered thru our refrigerator. I have bought more than double the price brand name filters i never knew that these ones existed!!
I wasn't sure if it would be as good but after seeing it and comparing it to the original one i thought wow thats cool literally half the price.
Like the original GE ones these came with stickers for the month of installation ( a reminder for replacing them )
There was pressure taking the old one out but wasnt too hard.It took me a min to install this one . Also there was alot air bubbles and noise immediately after installation but i guess thats normal .I ran the water through the filter for a few mins before i started using it to clear the system .
Its working great with no noise or water pressure issues.

I put it in as I do with the other filters, and of course I run about a gallon of water through just to get the filter cleared out. The water is clean, has no taste, and comes out completely clear. In about 3 months I'll be buying another one at full price which is still half of the original filter.

Guilty of not changing fridge filter in years! The instructions were simple and to the point. When I took off the old filter and compared it to the new (old is GE MWF smart filter) the top was a bit different. However once I screwed it in it fit perfectly. It suggests you drain a few gallons of water through the new filter to get crud and air out of the line. I'm so glad I did this bc there was a lot of air...and sputtering that made me worry a bit. However after continually doing this for about 3 gallons...it was back to smooth flow and I think it even flowed stronger. The GE filter is normally $40. This was half the price. Definitely will purchase again. I received this product at a discount rate in exchange for my honest unbiased review. Thank you.
