Starts off white, ends up turning black!

This was my first filter replacement I purchased for my GermGuardian Air purifier. I love the air filter and after a couple months of usage and vacuming the first part of the outer filter on my original filter I decided to buy a replacement since the inside was black. I received this air filter and was shocked to see that it was exactly like the first. I have bought replacement filters for other make/models of air purifiers and the replacement filters were always different than the original somehow. This was exactly like the original, including the removable black piece on the front that catches the larger pieces of dust and pet dander I have. It popped into my GermGuardian in 2 seconds and has been working excellent since.

This filter catches more impurities and odors from the air then I had hoped for. I use these for 3-4 month increments and will vacuum it half way through. Below are photos of a used filter on the left after 4 months of use (most days having the air filter running 24 hours in a row) next to a new unused one. Highly recommended if you are someone who likes a clean home with clean air. This filer is extremely easy to replace.

I bought this replacement filter earlier than I need it just to be sure I'm ready. The Germguardian 3-1in-1 Air Purifier is FANTASTIC. It's recommended especially for asthmatics (which I am) but would benefit anyone. It's tall (about the height of a computer tower) but compact and very sleek in the design. It has a UV light that kills pathogenic germs and the filter is a three in one and of course HEPA. I run mine non-stop in my room and it WORKS. The filter takes care of any allergens that are in the air (I live on a farm so there are plenty) and leaves my room "safe" for my asthma. When I have bad asthma attacks and I'm stuck in my room with my 'clean' air, I feel at least a little relief from knowing that this filter is working for me, and it does truly make it much easier to breathe in here. I HIGHLY recommend the air purifier that this filter goes with, ESPECIALLY for asthmatics. It's only $35 and trust me, you will never regret spending that on the GermGuardian.

When I had lung cancer and had part of my lung removed, breathing became more difficult. Air filtration became much more extremely important. I have HEPA N95 or better filters in every room of my house, as well as the one in my Central Air/Heating system. At one time, they were all different brands. When I got the first GermGuardian, it was so much better that what it replaced that I immediately replaced all the filters with GermGuardian filters. My breathing is so much easier and my stamina has increased. I don't think I'll ever quit using these filters, just replace their cartridges in a timely manner. Five stars for my filters!

We chose this for one room in particular that smelled like our animals. Then we ordered another, for the fresh feel to the room after it had been running. Wish we could afford one for every room in the house. In the meantime, we move them from room to room.

Although I'm on the fence on the actual Gemguardian unit I have, the filters and UV light kill and eliminate all orders. This replacement filter was reasonably priced, arrived almost overnight and does a great job. My previous hadn't been changed out in almost 2 1/2 years, so with gentle clean, you can maintain for more then 1 year.

These filters are so easy to install and while they are in use for the recommended six month so easy to clean when you just open the cover and gently pat the filter with a swifter duster. These HEPA filters really help keeping sinuses in check..

We buy this for one of our purifiers. So far we love the quality and love that we can get it in just 2 days with prime. Easy replacement, easy to clean, durable and not flimsy. It really picks up a lot of debris (we have two cats) and it seems we replace it within 2-3 months I believe, maybe longer since we have cleaned it I believe once (my husband honestly keeps up with it!). Will continue to buy these filters since they are good value and easy to acquire!

My change filter light came on after about six months so I ordered the genuine Germ Guardian filter. My old filter did not look very grimy but compared to a crisp new white one, it definitely had a faint brown tone to it. (Non-smoker; "allergy-friendly" pets). The new filter fit just slightly more tighter than the old one but it fit nonetheless. My air purifier ran all day with no issues.
Just a note - When I had first gotten the Germ Guardian, it was extremely quiet while on. Into the second month, the sound gradually built so by the end of the month it had actually became quite loud on. Low sounded like high x 5. The filter was still white and appeared new at that time so I repeatedly vacuumed the charcoal liner and used a tool to blow out any excess dust from the front end. The sound was annoying but did not increase further. However, with the new filter in, it is back to that glorious quiet hum. Hopefully that'll last longer than a month this time. The Germ Guardian is at a full roar again. Filter still looks brand new.
