I have a high efficiency Thermador dishwasher. When I had a Thermador Rep out to the house due to the bad smell he instructed me on the proper way to use the Affresh. 1. Only use the Affresh once a month. 2. Use the Affresh with a completely EMPTY dishwasher. 3. Run the dishwasher through one cycle with the Affresh tablet (no other cleaner or tablet is to be used at the same time). 4. Run the completely EMPTY dishwasher through a second cycle (using no table or other cleaner). After following these instructions monthly I have had a clean smelling dishwasher and no residue or fumes from the Affresh.

So... I didn't know you were suppose to clean your dishwasher. The warranty repair guy came out and told me I had a ton of soap build up in the sprayer nozzle and through the lines. There was a bunch and it was caked on the filter the likes of which I couldn't scrub off(had to get a new one). He told me to get Affresh and run it through the dishwasher 3 times to clean all of that build up in there. I thought the dishwasher was a goner. It had stopped spinning the cleaning arms and my dishes were filty. Gross! I ran the dishwasher three times with one of these in there each time, on heavy and hot. It totally did the job. I am thrilled! I have a working dishwasher AND clean dishes again. I'll be ordering these for my regular maintenance and using the correct dishwasher liquid. They are a tad pricey, but trust me, they saved my dishwasher.

So I bought these on accident. I was trying to buy clothe washing cleaners . . . and was in a big hurry.

Anyhow, i decided to try. Glad I did. We were having issues with rust sticking to some knives (the knives are not rusting as you could wipe this off with a little effort) - we have some rusted parts of the dishwasher that causes this. Well, this cleaner has essentially stopped this. I am guessing I will have to use monthly or so to keep up this effect.

I have been using the Affresh Dishwasher Cleaner Tablets for several years now. I started this on the Subscribe & Save program, so that I don't have to remember to order before I run out.

Something about the newer dishwashers makes them smell awful if you don't clean them regularly. With a septic system, I am really careful about what I use for detergents and cleaners all around my home. As part of my monthly chores, I run the dishwasher empty with the Affresh tablet, and it breaks down any water deposits and refreshes the entire machine. I have a Bosch that we bought about two years ago, and it works wonderfully... it even makes the permanent filter cleaning less undesirable. I originally bought this to help out our old GE that was so gross, and it worked miracles on that machine.

I love how easy it is, and the results last through the month. This package comes with 6 tablets, and are wrapped with a plastic wrap that is easy to open with scissors. I just hold the tablet, cut the end of the pack and dump it into the bottom of the dishwasher.

Worked perfectly in my geriatric dishwasher. Did not leave any unpleasant smell or such as stated by other reviewers.

Made everything look sparkling new again! I did not use this with dish products in the washer. Having previously used Lemi-Shine that way I will warn you that this product also contains citric acid and if you use it with dishes in the dishwasher it may remove any screenprinted or painted on designs from mugs or cups or dishware.

I love this Affresh. This does really work and makes my dishes, dishwasher, and washing machine sparkle and removes the odors left behind.

This stuff was amazing! I had run into an issue with my disposal breaking that backed water up into my dishwasher. It took a few weeks to get the new disposal in and everything running correctly and in that time the standing water in my dishwasher got really nasty. When I could finally get the water out there was even a mild ring around the floor of the dishwasher.

I used these tablets to clean it up after that disaster, took away the smell and the ring with out a problem! Total lifesaver!

Totally recommend this for cleaning up any dishwasher!

This was more of an impulse buy that popped up in my recommendations. I'm glad I tried it, because it took away thank musty "dank" smell in my dishwasher that I had, for some reason, come to accept. Now, I will not run our of this. It cleans & deodorize like bleach didn't do. It's something on the tablets that fizz & clean at the same time. Don't take my word for it, TRY IT!

Amen. My old GE never had a stink issue, but our 9 year old Maytag just stank after we simply put rinsed dishes and glasses in the washer waiting for a full load to turn on. After we opened it up to load more dishes it would just stink. Not when empty after a wash, just in between loads. I called Maytag and they told us about Affresh... finally decided to buy it and boy am I happy I did. That stink problem is all gone. Great product. Just bought the one for our Washing Machine now. Hoping it will help there too.

This really works great for cleaning dishwashers. Don't tell anyone, but I haven't previously cleaned my dishwasher since we bought it about 4 years ago. It had a decent amount of funk on it and it started to smell funny. That's why I bought these tablets. I used one - put it in the detergent compartment and turned on the dishwasher on normal setting. After the cycle was done, all the sediment from few years of use was gone and any unpleasant odor was nonexistent. Zero effort required, easy to use, and worth trying!
