I ordered this for my smokin' hot GF back in 2012... fast forward 3 years later -- this $20 wine opener is still with me and my smokin' hot GF is now my smokin' hot wife. I never thought either one would be with me for this long... but life is good.

We like to have a good time... I mean...we effin' get down on some wine. So this bad boy probably pops open a new bottle every 2 days. It has stayed plugged in to our wall for over 3 years now (I halfway expected the battery would have burned out by now, but nope!). We haven't even had to replace the screw yet --- still works like new --- I'm shocked and impressed this $20 opener has faithfully lasted this long.

Often times you get what you pay for (I know b/c I'm cheap... like... the OG of cheap) --- but this is an exception to that rule --- I have no idea why anyone would pay $50+ for another "more recognizable" brand --- this is packed with all the quality you could ever need. I probably sound like a sound like a PR rep from Oster, but I had to write a review of this little guy when I saw him sitting unrighteously unreviewed in my past orders.

My first electric wine opener was a Ozeri Nouveaux II Electric Wine Opener, at first I liked it but soon it started to wine with every bottle opened and I was losing confidence in it. So I decided to try a different brand and bought the Oster. It is 100 times better, it works better, it looks better and it has no cord to remove every time you use it. This is the best one for me for sure.

I bought one of these in January 2010. It's easy to use once you get the hang of it, and it did get a lot of use. By December, the battery became unable to sufficiently recharge, i.e., open wine bottles. Fortunately, these devices come with a one-year warranty. So I contacted Oster via telephone and explained my issue. They verified a product number and sent me a replacement at no charge to me, including S&H. While I don't think this the unit will make it through 2012, it's still a pretty good value for a two-year lifespan.

By the way, I did have to wait on the phone for about 10 minutes to reach a customer service rep.

We had an Oster wine opener identical to this one for nearly 10 years. It finally gave up the ghost when the switch stopped working. We bought another and were surprised at how much more powerful and quiet it is. Hoping to get many years of service out of this unit as well. Excellent value. And, the new unit was $4 less from Amazon than the first one bought from Costco.

I love this wine bottle opener. This is the second one I have owned; the first was a Christmas gift four years ago. It bit the bullet after removing many, many corks (someway the corkscrew got bent, so it wouldn't remove a cork). Oster's wine-bottle opener is truly the better mouse trap. It's quiet, requires little pressure, and is fast. It has a sleek appearance (brushed-chrome look with black in the middle and the base). It's simple to use. Just place the unit on top of the cork and press the bottom of the silver button on the unit. You will know when the cork has been removed because the unit will just lift up from the bottle. To remove the cork from the unit, press the silver button at the top. The cork will begin coming down from inside the unit and be released on the counter, floor, or trash can, whichever you prefer. Just remember to remove the foil covering over the cork before using the opener. A foil cutter comes with the unit. I purchased a heavy-duty foil remover. The instructions say it will open 30 bottles of wine before it needs recharging. I have never let it go that long. It requires no batteries and the charging unit has a nice, long cord.

This charger is an inexpensive, useful, and an eye-pleasing gift for any one and any occasion. I highly recommend it.

I have bought several of them as gifts for friends and family, but never actually owned one until now ...

Making long story short, I always liked comments how well I operate a simple bartender wine opener and how difficult it was for others to even figure it out how to use one. That's why I was never inspired to buy one of these electric openers. But finally, after my 4th "simple" opener got lost or broken due to my girlfriend's inability to use it I decided to get the Oster opener. On the other hand at the same time I got me a nice bartender style opener, just for my own.

The opener arrived nicely packaged in a retail box, since I got few before from Amazon that were taken out of a bulk box and shipped in Amazon Frustration Free Packaging, which was sometime a con since it was to be a gift (just pointing it out if You are looking for it to be a gift make sure you choose one that says Retail Packaging - otherwise it will be in a brown piece of cardboard which is not even a square box).I took it out of the box, pluged the charger in and let it charge while I was away at work all day.

At night me and my girlfriend decide to have a bottle of wine, so that we can try the new buy. She did the honors, and let me tell you the thing works like a charm. Took my girlfriend 25 seconds to open the wine, and she did it all with a smile on her face!

That said, If you are looking for a easy way to open a bottle of wine and you strugle with corkscrews GET IT! It has a nice and slim design so it won't clutter your counter too much. It is somehow little big tough. Look at the dimensions at make sure it fits your space.

Handy little tool for wine lovers!

This is my second purchase of this nifty little machine, it's great: sturdy, does the job. Just don't make my mistake and leave it off the charger with a cork still in it: I lost the charge, couldn't get the cork out for love nor money, and had to replace the main unit. Otherwise the first one would still be chugging along after several years. This is so worth the $20.!!

My husband is a scotch drinker, but he occasionally likes a nice wine, too, so I got him this wine bottle opener, and watching him try to figure it out was really entertaining. It's very simple, and since he has never read instructions in his life, that's a good thing. You simply put the tool on top of the wine bottle and press the "down" button and the corkscrew winds itself into the cork. Then you pull the whole apparatus up and the cork comes out of the bottle.

To retrieve your cork, simply press the "up" button.

He didn't even realize the tool comes with a cool cutter that you can use to cut off the seal from around the cork, he just went right through the cork. But I love the cutter, because it's a safety cutter, meaning it's impossible (unless your fingers are HUGE, I guess) to cut your finger with it. Just put the cutter over the cork, spin it around and voila, you've got an exposed cork.

I love this tool, and so does my husband. I received it at a discount in exchange for a review, but I did not promise a positive review.

1, Reason why I chose :
Looking for an automated wine bottle opener.

2, like & dislike :
This works the way it should be. It's pretty big. If you're looking for a stylish model, there are other alternatives. Design is okay, but plastic material looks a little cheesy. Expensive models offers rubber and metal materials.

3, Recommend this product to :
Anyone who's looking for an inexpensive electric wine bottle opener.

4, Price :

Arthritis and tendonitis have made it difficult to open wine bottles. Rather than give up wine, I sought an easier way and this device is it, capital I. Maintains 'oomph' throughout 15 bottles without re-charge; extracts cork smoothly and without strain. Took me a couple of tries to get the right'feel'--center it on the bottle opening, press and hold the switch down. Let it work--it will stop when cork is fully withdrawn. Do not force, twist or rock. Just let it do its thing. Excellent product, well worth the price.
