I really like this crockpot. My old one was only 4.5 quarts and was not digital. I have 5 kids and really wanted something large. I read a lot of the reviews that mentioned 6 quart crock pots only hold 5 quarts unless you fill to the tippy top. So I did do a liquid test and it held 6 quarts without going over the little rim the lid sits on and if you fill it with 7 quarts it gets almost all the way to the edge. In the past with my little 4.5q I would use the crock pot bags and then pull them straight up with the lid on. That way when it started to boil the liquid wouldn't get on the counter. I'm sure something like that would help here as well.

So far it's worked very well. Cooked nicely. It does have a max time of 14 hours. So if you set it to high or low for 10 hours then it will only be on warm for 4 hours before turning off. It looks very nice and seems to be of a good quality. Hopefully this will last us for a long time.

We really use our crock pot. We are largely vegetarian, and regularly make vegetarian chili during the week. Since we work long hours, there is nothing easier than setting up the meal the night before, putting it in the refrigerator, and then simply putting it in the base of the crock pot, turning it on, and having a delicious meal when we get home. I had to replace the last slow cooker after my wife overfilled it one time too many, causing it to spill into the heating element and ruining it (never fill it more than 3/4 full). This slow cooker is almost idiot proof. You simply plug it in, select the temperature (high, low, warm) and the time (2,4,6,8 or 10 hours). The downside to this slow cooker is that you cannot adjust other than 2,4,6, 8 or 10 hours (so, you can do 90 minutes or some other time other than the preset hours) and there is no display that tells you hour much time is left. The upside is that it automatically shuts off after 14 hours (so you can't accidentally leave it on forever) and it is truly idiot proof. We are very pleased with the purchase (for both the price and quality). Last night we had vegetarian stew that consisted of baked beans, cannelloni beans, black beans, tomatoes, onion, garlic, green beans and corn, with two tablespoons of chili powder, one tablespoon of cumin, one tablespoon of turmeric, one tablespoon of oregano, a pinch of cayenne pepper, black pepper to taste - cooked it on low for 10 hours (after taking it out of the fridge) and - fantastic. Nice comfort food when we got home from work. This slow cooker is a winner.

Some reviewers complained about the lightweight quality of the exterior shell. It is aluminum, and it will dent easily. But that doesn't negate the quality of the product. I've used this many times over the last several months and am more than happy with it. Everything works as expected and described, love the large capacity.

Bought this to replace my old one. It is better. This one I can program and leave without having to keep checking on it .

I've used this slow cooker probably 2 dozen times or more by now. I've cooked soups, stews, pork and sauerkraut, even cookled a chicken. No problems. It has 3 Temps, including Warm, 5 cooking times - 2,4,6,8,10 hours. I generally only use the HI setting till the contents start bubbling. Then I switch to low, since it tends to boil lightly even on LOW. You can change cooking time easily by hitting the up or down button for more or less hours.

And, yes, it gets hot! So many complain about that. A dish in the oven gets hot, a pan on the burner gets hot. No one mentions it. For some reason, slow cookers shouldn't get hot. I don't have a problem with it getting hot. I just don't have a need to caress it while it is cooking, I guess. If you must move it before it cools, it has two handles for that purpose.

And some complain because the lid does not make a tight seal. A tight seal would make it a pressure cooker which is an entirely different product. The lid fits tight enough to keep heat in and loose enough not to blow the lid sky high.

Removable bowl makes it easy to clean. I wash it in the sink. Just make sure it is DRY before putting it back in the cooker, or the metal corrodes.

I debated between this and the programmable version. For the difference in price, this is working out just fine, don't regret not getting the programmable one. If I had to do it over, I would buy this one again.

I am a die hard Crockpot brand user, so I was somewhat skeptical to try this product. I have to say without a doubt, that my mind was changed! I love that this slow cooker has multiple time settings at both the medium and high settings. This is great for recipes that call for a less than standard cooking time! The size is awesome and should be able to accommodate most every slow cooker recipe out there. The lid seems to have a great seal and I haven't noticed any moisture inside the lid glass. All around a superb value for the cost! Couldn't he happier with this purchase!

well I just got me new 7qt Hamilton Beach slow cooker model 33473, I am cooking a pot of stew as I am writing this, so far it is doing a great job but my only concern is that the lid is very sloppy on it and was letting a lot of steam out. not sure if I like that at all. My other crock pot is a Crock Pot brand and it never did that. I like the looks and so far is cooking fine.I will add a few comments, I have made things in it now a stew crockpot nut clusters and today a Roast with onion, soup and cream of mushroom soup and I browned a chuck and then added the soups and potatoes and carrots. put it on 6 hours and went to town, came back and it was on warm and the dinner was excellent everything cooked just perfect, so having the lid a little loose is a good thing Well worth the money

Product works as intended. Lid seals tightly so water and condensation doesn't build up around the edge.
Easy to clean, a good coating doesn't leave cheese, beans, or meat baked on.
Durable quality base and bowl, heats up faster than anticipated and maintains temperature very well after cooking has finished and has been turned off and unplugged.
Timer works great - set it for 6 hours on high, and it switches to warm after it finishes. Settings have been tested and proven.

Very happy with this. Everything I've tried has turned out well but of course one has to experiment and get used to how long things will take. I have started using just the high heat setting, medium took longer than I wanted to wait but it might come in handy sometime. The outer shell is not too sturdy but I'm going to be careful with it and rarely move it because the inset comes out. I don't fill it too high so over flowing is not a problem. I don't understand complaints about the lid, mine is fine and is fairly substantial like the insert. Would recommend this tho if you have a big family get the 7 quart size.
