Keurig Descaling Solution

  • Removes mineral build up
  • Fast and odorless
  • Compatible with all Keurig brewers
  • Extends the life of brewer
  • Use every 3-6 months
Keurig brewer performance matters. Descaling is an important process that removes calcium deposits, or scale, that can build up inside a brewer over time. Calcium and scale is non-toxic but left unattended, it can hinder your brewer's performance over time. Descaling should take place every 3 to 6 months to preserve the long-term health of your brewer.

restored my keurig coffee maker to brand new condition, coffee tastes great once again

We used this to descale our Keurig. It works amazing. One thing, you use one whole bottle each time according to the directions. If I would've known that I would've ordered more than just one bottle.

I admit - I'm a vinegar cleaner. I use Vinegar in my Cuisinart machine monthly, and I don't have a problem.

BUT - I bought a Cuisinart for my parents. My mom is a clean freak, so I didn't expect the coffee pot to get so dirty. But the filter holder broke, and Amazon doesn't sell them. Cuisinart has them backordered. So she had several months of scale built up in the machine, and it took several minutes to pull in enough water to brew a cup. My mom also cleans with vinegar. But with this much buildup, the vinegar didn't clean out the tubes very well.

I paid $12.99 for this and thought it would allow me to clean my pot and hers for a while. Didn't realize you had to use it all in one shot! But I have to admit - it cleaned up the tubes just fine, and now it pulls water though like it did when it was brand new.

The key to descaling - no matter what method you use - is to turn OFF the auto-off timer and let the stuff soak in the machine for a few hours. Cuisinart recommends 4, but your mileage may vary. So clean with vinegar, let it soak while you go to work, and flush it out when you get home. Once a month and you will not have a problem. BUT IF YOUR PARENTS/SPOUSE/FRIEND does not do this to their machine and you are called in to the rescue, this stuff will do the trick.

As described. read all reviews and followed directions to keep my Keurig 2.0 machine clean and running well. Our water is crappy and even though it is filtered and then filtered in the machine I want to keep my coffee maker in good running condition. Be aware of the warnings and take action.

I used this to clean our Keurig brewer here in Afghanistan. The brewer is 2 years old and has brewed thousands (possibly tens of thousands) of cups, & despite using only bottled water this stuff still removed calcium and other particles. Though labor intensive, the directions are easy to follow, and it performed as advertised. My two office mates and myself definitely noticed an improvement in brewing function and the taste of the coffee after I cleaned using this product.

Honestly, I didn't know how much this was needed until we bought it. We'd been using a vinegar mixture to clean the Keurig, and while it works well, this works better. I followed the directions, and after it sat for an hour, the stream that came out was very yellow and pretty gross. I did the 12 rinses, and the water was crystal clear. My husband says his coffee tastes a lot better now. So while you can use the vinegar for quick fixes or clogs, you should definitely be using the descaling solution as often as needed for a deep clean.

Keurig Descaling solution is the best for cleaning the scale off the inside of your brewer and keeping it running in top shape. I have a Keurig 2.0 brewer and this keeps it clean and fresh for my beverages. Regular use of this product will keep calcium deposits to a minimum and is essential for the maintenance of the heating element.

The procedure I use is as follows:

This applies to K-Cup, Vue, Rivo, and Keurig 2.0 brewers.
1. Empty the water reservoir and remove the filter (if applicable). Turn the brewer off by holding the power button.

2. Put the whole bottle in the reservoir.

3. Turn the brewer on and put a large mug on the drip plate.

4. Run the solution through the brewer and discard the liquid in the sink until the brewer displays "add water".

5. Leave the brewer on and allow the solution to sit in the lines for 30 minutes.

6. Remove the water reservoir and thoroughly rinse it out in the sink. Then fill it with fresh water and run three tanks of fresh water through the machine. This ensures that all of the solution is washed out of the lines. Then all you have to do is replace the filter if you removed it earlier and brew your favorite K-cup.

There is a section on the directions on the bottle that talks about a "foam" coming out of the brewer in the case of heavily scaled machines, but I have not personally experienced this. If your Keurig is older and you have never descaled it you may see this but I normally run the descaling solution through my machine about once every 3-4 months. You will be happy with the performance of your brewer after doing this and it can make an old machine run like brand new!! I highly recommend it!

My Keurig (about 4 years old) suddenly started producing only a half cup of coffee and then, next cup was overflowing. I went online to their site and followed their instructions for cleaning and ordered the descaling solution here at Amazon. Took a bit of time, but after going through the steps, the machine now works perfectly.
