I purchased the Hoover Max Extract Dual V along with the Hoover PETPLUS 2X Cleaning Solution. I wanted to use the Platinum line of solutions, but they weren't listed in the recommended solutions for my new machine. I didn't have high hopes going into this adventure. I've used carpet cleaning machines/solutions in the past and haven't been impressed. I just cleaned all of my carpeted rooms and area rugs...and I am impressed. My carpets smell fresh and look brand new. It tackled a couple of tough pet stains that I was unable to get rid of with spot cleaning. The scent in the solution didn't irritate my dogs sensitive noses either. Understanding that this is not a professional grade cleaning solution, I would highly recommend this product to pet owners.

Really glad we found this cleaner! Worked like a boss on some older stains we could not kill, and did fabulously on newer stains. Easy to use & manuever!

I just moved and have been going crazy since my fence is not up yet in the backyard. I have been practically following the dogs around. And what made it worse was its brand new carpet! Anyway, just got the Hoover 2X PetPlus & Odor Remover today and immediately fired up the carpet cleaner, What a great product! And the dogs are not bothered by the fragrance, btw, I think it smells clean and pleasant. My carpet is an oatmeal color so you know everything shows, this product cleaned it perfectly. I will definitely be using this again and again.

My sister's new townhouse smelled 'doggy' when she purchased it. She has a small dog, so I knew the current carpet (though not terribly old or worn) would need to be deep cleaned so her dog didn't get any ideas. There turned out to be some set-in stains (which her dog found right away). We tried to spot treat them, with no luck.

I had never tried a pet treatment to machine-clean my entire carpet, but we went ahead and ordered this to use for her whole house. It worked great (and went a long way -- we even had some left)! I can't smell anything at all -- not even the bit of dust and smoke that was also detectable when we first looked at the house; it even took out some other set-in stains which may have been food or fruit juice. Everything came out with one cleaning. The carpet pad must be clean, as well; her dog hasn't ever 'sniffed' around anywhere or had an 'accident' in the house (though he IS home by himself sometimes). GOOD PRODUCT.

We have two large elderly dogs, and they make more mistakes than I want to think about.
This stuff DOES THE JOB.
(We have carpet with waterproof padding which helps. If a lot of urine soaks foam padding, you would have to get carpet cleaner all the way to the bottom of that padding for it to work.)
First, I absorb as much urine as possible with kleenex because kleenex absorbs more than anything else I have tried.
Second, I Hoover the spot with Pet Plus. I generally go over the spot about 10 times back and forth because you have to get Pet Plus on ALL of the carpet strands that had urine on them so it is wet right down to the backing. I let it set for 10 minutes or so before I rinse. The spot will smell strongly of ammonia if you get down close and take a whiff. That is because the Pet Plus is actually chemically destroying the the urine, not just masking the smell with perfume.
When the carpet is completely dry, there is no smell left.
I did try the extra fancy expensive Gold version of Hoover carpet cleaner, and I don't think it does any better a job with urine smell than the less expensive Pet Plus.

I would give this 10 stars if I could. I purchased this to use with my new hoover carpet steam cleaner. I have an elderly dog staying with me that keeps on having accidents on the carpet. The 2x PetPlus Pet Stain and Odor Remover got all the stains out and got rid of any lingering odor. My rugs look great again.

We have three house dogs, and while we are out and about for an extended time, we lay down some doggies pads, but also use this in the rug shampooer and it does a great job.

Do recommend it to anyone who has dogs that are apt to need further attendance of this type.

Smells good and seems to clean better than the original so I use it in all areas, not just pet areas. I used it last in a room one month ago and the room still smells fresh like the shampoo. It also does not leave a sticky residue. For example, when I shampoo with other brands (red bottle at grocery store) and walk on the wet floor my shoes will be sticky on bottom when I go to the kitchen floor. With this stuff, my shoes do not get sticky so I know its better at not leaving a residue. However, I do have a shampooer that mixes the solution for you so I am not using too much which is usually the cause of a sticky residue. Would recommend

bsolutely amazing! I had a cat that sprayed on my carpet and his odor was incredibly strong. I used a powder first, to try and avoid buying a whole shampooing machine, but it only covered the smell for a few hours and it was back again. I bought this product along with the Hoover FH50150 Carpet Basics Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Cleaner. This was my first time ever using a carpet shampooer, so I really had no idea what I was doing. I filled it up exactly how the manual stated which ended up using half of this bottle of solution. But my carpet looks and smells like new again! I was so thoroughly amazed. Where the cat had sprayed was a small room, about 10x8 and I completely did that room, but there was still a lot of solution left so I moved my attention to our hallway. There were some black marks leading from our front door down the length of the hallway (about 10 feet) . We are renters, so these spots were there when we moved in. I can only assume they were grease spots with them being almost completely black; I also tried getting them up by hand when we first moved in with a scrub brush and Dr. Bonners soap. Absolutely no luck with that method, I mostly just had the luck of making the black spot larger... So needless to say that I didn't expect much from a soap that's only claim was for pet odor and stains. But after a couple passes the stain was completely gone! Now this is extremely high traffic spot, and that stain had been there since I moved in a year ago. I was thoroughly surprised but extremely happy nonetheless. Now by the time I got done with this stretch and the previous room I had run out of water, but there was still some solution left in the tank.
Though I did use half of the bottle I did get a good majority of my house done, and for never using a carpet shampooer before, I know I used more solution than I needed.
I definitely recommend this product to any one looking to get cat or dog urine smell of carpet. My carpet looks like new again and and as an added bonus, it got the grease stains or of my carpet too.

I felt like my carpets were brand new after cleaning the carpets with the PetPlus stain and odor remover. Great smell that is not overly strong. Just smells clean and removed all the pet odors from my house.
