The flow rate on this filter (0.8gpm) is so much better than the generic replacement I had bought while trying to save money (0.5gpm,) that it's easily worth the premium price (and this Amazon price is better than I found anywhere else.) I had a store brand filter from T H*ME D**OT in my Maytag french door refrigerator. You can see in my attached photo the difference in design: This filter, on the right, is larger, and has more holes for the water to flow. The family complained that it took too long to fill glasses; the Keurig reservoir took FOREVER! I timed the old one, it took almost exactly 60 seconds to fill a 1 quart jug. This new Everydrop filter filled the same jug in 32 seconds.

This filter is an upgrade to the recommended filter for our 2012 side by side KitchenAid refrigerator.

I added a picture of the old filter that this one replaced.

The old filter never removed the strong chlorine smell we have with our public water supply; this one did-that's one reason why I gave it 5 stars.

Works fine in my KitchenAid refrigerator. Water does seem much better filtered compared to before, though I had left the old filter in considerably longer than I should because I forgot about it and the replace filter light never came on.

Based on the product packaging, this filter really is rated as NSF 53 (and not just unofficially claiming to filter 53 contaminants). I mention this because it was basically impossibly to verify this from the online product information.

Very nice. These are the new generation of Whirlpool water filters ], and they allow water flow at almost double the speed of the model they replace. We made sure to purchase them direct from Amazon (after seeing some problem comments from others that bough from 3rd parties) and they are a winner.

Perfect fit replacement for old version UKF8001. Water flow is better that old version UKF8001. I was skeptical about going from old model to current version. Wow! very glad I did. Don't buy the old version. Get this current one for the better flow alone. And if you are into the filtering aspects as well, and if you can believe labels on stuff you can't see, the new version also removes more contaminants than the old version.

What can you say about a water filter....you need it and your stuck with the one your refrigerator requires.

I purchased this brand when I noticed my previous model (Maytag UKF8001 Pur Refrigerator Water Filter) was discontinued. I was a bit concerned since it appeared very different than what I had been purchasing.

I am pleased to say this fit perfectly. Don't be concerned about the picture. If your previous filter was the one I previously listed, this one will be just fine. I've had no issues with water pressure when compared to the old one. Identical results and no change in water taste.

I did my research before replacing a water filter for my 9-year old Maytag side-by-side refrigerator. There are quite a few filters that are much, much cheaper, but the negative reviews and "Made-in-China" labels compelled me to put on the brakes. I'm not going to cut corners on drinking water. Highly recommended.Yes, Everydrop costs more, but my peace of mind when it comes to the family's health is, well, priceless.

I did a lot of research on this item and read tons of reviews before purchasing this item. It arrived on time and was quality all the way. The funny part is that when I did put this new filter in, it was identical to the model number that came with our new refrigerator. This was the first time we've replaced this unit and for reminders sake, I put this on an automatic shipment every six months so I don't forget to replace it.

This filter is much better then the original. We have very hard water and I noticed as soon as we replaced it how much more it filtered out. With the original filter you could still see some of the sediment floating in the water even after it was filtered. With this one it must have removed at 80% more.

I spent hours trying to find a Bosch filter BORPLFTR20 for a decent price. The Bosch model is what Bosch recommends for my side by side bottom freezer fridge. Amazon didn't carry it when I was looking. Then I looked in the owners manual for the fridge and it said the filter I needed was Maytag UKF8001. That is how I got to this filter which is the new model replacing UKF8001. As the pictures show, it is exactly the same as the Bosch one (which was made by 3M). Works great. Hope this helps someone trying to find the Bosch one.
